Who We Are
Robert Kolden
After practicing ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Robert made and sold function-ware as he entered the trades as a carpenter. When he discovered Artisan Finishes in the early 90's, he became a dedicated plasterer and worked among a group of Seattle based artisans experimenting with new materials and refining the application of traditional Venetian plasters.
Ethan Orlaska
Ethan and Robert met through a mutual interest in whitewater rafting. Since 2020, Ethan has worked beside Robert and fellow Seattle plasterers, cultivating his knowledge in a wide array of materials with ambitions to further his troweling skills and translate these mediums into artwork.
